STORY PARTNERS
We at Live It Earth believe in the power of education and stories to share peoples’ connections with the natural world, history, and culture. To share these connections we work with a wide range of organizations, institutions, government and communities to create stories. We also work with teachers and curriculum designers to make connections between each story and the curriculum. Through our process of creating a story our partners, educators and executive team all review the content we are creating. We strive to produce programs that are safe, accurate, equitable and fun.
HARD CONVERSATIONS
Our programs don’t shy away from hard conversations, in fact it is part of our scripts. We make sure to include the challenges and impacts of the themes we choose as well as include actions that kids can take to solve those challenges.
CONNECTING KIDS TO CAREERS
In each program, Live It Earth connects kids with people working in different fields and real-world subject matter experts. Our goal is to expose students to non-conventional career pathways at any age, while keeping up with the career education curriculum.
INCLUDING INDIGENOUS PERSPECTIVES
We work with Indigenous experts and advisors to guide our educational content development so we can respectfully include Indigenous worldviews in our hybrid learning resources. Our programs include land acknowledgements, Indigenous perspectives on topics and strive to emulate First Peoples' Principles of Learning. Learn more about our Indigenous Commitment.
HOW WE ARE PAID
We work with the outreach initiatives of organizations that are aligned with the topics and themes we aim to create stories around. Those organizations share people they think will be the best experts to speak on a given topic. Live It Earth reviews these experts and when needed, looks for additional or alternative experts to be more equitable. Though we are mostly funded by organizations to create these stories, we are firm in making sure they are safe, accurate, equitable and fun. If an organization is unwilling to participate in our format we look for others.
OUR GUARANTEE
We strive to produce programs that are safe, accurate, equitable and fun. If for any reason these conditions are not met we will remove the program, review it and rebuild it with the support of our educators.
